Bulk Offboarding
PurpletGo lets you kick off offboarding for up to 200 employees in a single operation - useful for layoffs, department restructures, or closing out a batch of expiring contracts. Every offboarding created this way is tagged with a batch ID so you can track progress across the whole group from one screen. Bulk offboarding requires the Starter plan or above, and only Super Admins, Admins, and HR can initiate a batch (Managers can create individual offboardings, but not bulk ones).

Starting a bulk offboard
There are two ways to create a batch:
Select employees
On the Employees page, check the box next to each person you want to offboard.
Open the Bulk Offboard dialog
Once you've selected at least one row, a Bulk Offboard (N) button appears. Click it to open the confirmation dialog, which lists everyone you selected.
Set exit date and separation type
Choose a shared Exit Date and Separation Type (Layoff/RIF, Redundancy, Termination, Resignation, Retirement, or Contract End) that applies to everyone in the batch. Add optional notes.
Initiate
Click Initiate N Offboardings. PurpletGo creates one offboarding record per employee (skipping anyone who already has an active offboarding), each starting in the Pending stage with a default six-task checklist, and reports how many were created, skipped, or failed.
Bulk imports are rate-limited: up to 10 directory-selection batches and 5 CSV imports per 15 minutes, per organization. If you hit the limit you'll be asked to wait before trying again.
Tracking a batch
The Bulk Offboarding Batches page (/bulk-batches) lists every batch you've created, newest first, with:
- Total employees, and how many have completed
- A progress bar for stage completion and a separate one for checklist completion
- Exit date and separation type for the batch
Click a batch row to see every employee in it, their current stage, checklist progress, and whether they have any overdue tasks - with a CSV export of that detail. Clicking an employee row takes you straight to their individual offboarding record. Both the Employees-page selection flow and CSV imports show up here, since each tags its records with a shared batch ID.
