Checklists & Templates
PurpletGo's checklist system lets you define reusable task lists, then apply them when starting a new offboarding. Every task completion is time-stamped and shows up in the audit trail. Checklist templates are a Starter-plan feature and above - Free-plan orgs get a default six-item checklist on every offboarding instead of a custom one.
Creating a template
- Go to Settings → Templates
- Click New Template
- Give it a name (e.g., Engineering Exit Checklist)
- Add tasks - each one has just two fields: the task description and who it's assigned to (IT Admin, HR, Finance, Manager, Legal, or Security)
- Reorder tasks with the up/down arrows if needed, then click Save
There's no due-date-offset or SLA setting at the template level - those get set per task once a checklist exists on an actual offboarding (see below).
Applying a template
When you start a new offboarding, the wizard's third step lets you pick a template from a dropdown - all of its tasks get copied into the new offboarding's checklist. If you skip this, PurpletGo falls back to a default task list (a shorter one for contractors/vendors).
Managing tasks
Once an offboarding exists, its checklist lives on the offboarding's detail page:
| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Complete a task | Click the checkbox next to the task |
| Set a due date | Click the calendar icon next to the task |
| Edit task text | Click the pencil icon |
| Set an SLA | Set a number of hours (1-8760) - the deadline is calculated from when the task was created, and it flags as breached automatically if it's still open past that time |
| Delete a task | Click the trash icon |
Only Super Admins, Admins, HR, and Managers can set or change SLA windows on a task.
SLA tracking
Breached items show up in red on the checklist. If your plan includes the SLA Compliance Dashboard (Team plan and above), you'll also find a dedicated SLA Compliance tab under Analytics with breach trends and a CSV export of every SLA-tracked task.
Template gallery
Under Settings → Templates → Browse Gallery, PurpletGo ships a set of pre-built templates you can import and then edit freely:
- Engineering Offboarding
- Sales Offboarding
- Finance Offboarding
- Healthcare Offboarding
- Legal Offboarding
- HR Offboarding
- Marketing Offboarding
- Contractor / Vendor Offboarding (a shorter flow that skips payroll and benefits steps)
Importing a gallery template creates an independent copy in your org - editing it afterward doesn't touch the original.
Checklist visibility
Inside the app, anyone who can open an offboarding's detail page sees its full checklist regardless of who a task is assigned to - there's no per-role filtering on that view. The exception is the self-service portal: a departing employee accessing their own offboarding link sees the full task list too, but can only check off the tasks assigned to Employee - everything else is view-only for them.
